Bring the fire or burn out

Starting in Cullinan at sunset, riders head deep into remote gravel roads and wild terrain toward Tonteldoos. Long climbs. Fast descents. Night riding. Minimal margin for error.

Riders will ride through the night, face the legendary Korfnek Pass after 200km, and finish at the picturesque Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate. Designed for experienced endurance riders who know how to manage effort, nutrition and the mental game over long distances.

Stay at Idyllic Dunkeld Estate

The race ends at Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate, so stay where you finish. Chalets, a race-village braai, and a full weekend of horse riding, fly fishing and family activities in the Mpumalanga highlands.

    Surface: Unmarked gravel & district roads

    Start: 17:00, Friday 11 September in Cullinan
    Finish: Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate
    Cut-off: 24 hours (16:59, Sat 12 September)

  • Challenges

    Ultra-endurance: overnight, self-supported, GPS-only
    Korfnek Pass: 140m climb over 1.8km, after 200km
    Water points: de Villa Lodge (128km) & Stoffberg Silos (205km)

  • You will need

    Bike type: MTB or gravel (MTB recommended)
    Navigation: GPS device + GPX route (sent 1 week prior)
    Mandatory kit: lights, tracker, medical kit, 2L+ water. Full list at registration.
